The Brief

To reimagine an existing care home lounge as a welcoming, multi-functional social environment that prioritises comfort, safety, accessibility, and wellbeing. The scheme should enhance natural light and spatial clarity while retaining key architectural features of the existing building, including traditional timber panelling.

The Solution

The design solution modernises the lounge through a warm, neutral palette and the careful repainting of existing timber panelling to significantly lift and brighten the space. Soft furnishings, layered textures, and supportive seating create a homely feel, while clear layouts, glare-free lighting, and acoustic finishes ensure comfort, accessibility, and wellbeing.
